I realize it is VERY short notice. I just learned about it myself. For those interested be careful. There are those of you who might dump too fast and too hard which can cause complications and even death. Yes, I said death. Your body is so full of toxins from plants that a sudden dump of those toxins into your system can really do some damage.
What to do? Educate yourself and go at your own pace. This 75 day challenge can be modified to suit you where you are now. Yes, it is motivational, it is challenging but most of all make it flexible to YOU.
This challenge takes us to Jan.1 with the goal of a noticeable transformation with which to start the New Year.
That’s right. While friends and family are horking down sweets, and over indulging, during the holidays and packing on pounds, you are not (hopefully).
Instead of sugary snacks, you walk into the party already having eaten a steak or some other animal product so that you are full and not susceptible to temptations. Instead of an alcohol drink, you are enjoying sparkling water with a twist.
When everyone else is passed out after Thanksgiving dinner, you go for a walk through the neighborhood and feel refreshed.
There are so many small changes you can do that will add up and create wonderful changes for your health.
Take a good, honest look at your daily habits right now and determine which are the worst and need to be addressed first.
Addictions; smoking, drinking, porn, sex, food, gossip, etc.
Sloth; when was the last time you moved… aside from walking to the toilet? Start with a walk everyday. Ten to fifteen minutes.
Gratitude; write it down.
Discipline; it’s not just for those in the military. Ideas to exercise discipline; get to where you are going on time or even early. Stop driving stupid and selfish and stop yelling and cussing at people in traffic. Learn about stoicism and maybe try doing some of what you read.
Depression and weight gain are cyclical. They feed off of one another. There has been a lot to be upset about the last 2 years or so. Finding healthy ways to deal with adversity is good goal! Getting healthy is a good goal!
You do not need to train as if you want to climb a mountain but try to find at least three things you can adjust for a healthier you.

One of the first things someone new to the carnivore way of eating (WOE) needs to realize is; as with everything in life, there is controversy, differing opinions, criticism, and judgement with this way of life. Keep in mind that this is YOUR diet. No matter how many people eat this way (and there are many, many, people who do), no matter what ‘experts’ tell you you should do, you are only going to stick with this woe if you are able to do it and see/feel results. So if you need to eat bacon everyday, do it. If you need to eat 12 eggs everyday, do it. If you cannot function without coffee do it but keep in mind everything has a connection to something. Meaning, there is a higher level of histamine (a chemical some people are sensitive to) in bacon than other meat. Coffee and dairy can have certain affects on certain people. Read, read, read, and experiment! This is your body. This is your health journey. People are going to contribute their opinions but no one is the boss of you or your health journey. Not even your spouse or family.
I have always found it interesting when obese people and people who are ill because of the Standard American Diet (SAD) and being in the medical system give out dietary and health advice. Do they not have mirrors? Do they not realize that how they feel is not normal nor healthy?
The carnivore woe is animal based. The percentage is up to you but the higher your percentage of animal based eating the more successful you will be at healing… to a point. I saw to a point because while your body detoxes form decades of crappy eating and yes… I include eating vegetables and drinking smoothies as part of the crappy way of eating that toxified your body. It’s not just highly processed foods that are detrimental to our physical and mental health. We have been fed a lie that vegetables are healthy and good for us. They are not.
Someone on social media posted about how eating carnivore ruined their relationship with food. I am mending that and saying no, it was how the ‘powers-that-be’ allowed American food to become; over processed, addictive, lacking in nutrition, and flooded with harmful chemicals from farming, and turning cooking and eating into entertainment that ruined our relationship with food. This was all done in the name of profiting from illness and addiction. It is not beef that has ruined the planet but unchecked greed.
Eating meat is going to reset your body. It will remember how it was made to function. Eating food in neon colors is not normal. Mono-cropping is not normal and is bad for the planet. Animals exist to provide food, and clothing for people. THIS is the natural order of things.
Want to be healthier? First take a good, honest look at your diet. Change whatever is not working for you instead of continuing down an unhealthy path and waiting for it to work for you, take charge of yourself!
If you have been plant based or plant heavy in your eating style, go slow. Add in a steak everyday and an egg or two. Remove from your menu all dark leafy greens and/or all white foods such as potatoes, rice, beans grains, and legumes. Be sure to drink enough water. Stop drinking soft drinks fruit juices, green smoothies, etc.
Keep a food diary. Note what works and what does not.

Last night, I, and five other amazing, strong women gathered at a local fast-food Mexican restaurant to meet each other and give one another support in walking a healthier life path. It was amazing. I had a great time meeting these beautiful, strong women doing what they need to do to become a healthier (perhaps healthiest) version of themselves.
I have eaten the carnivore way off and on for several years. I need to buckle down and keep going. I tend to stop when I do too much ‘dumping’ which is pretty much what it sounds like. You see, as we go along in life eating toxic plants; kale, beans, grains, legumes, etc. the toxins in plants accumulate in our organs and fat cells. When you stop eating them your body does what is called, ‘dumping’ to rid itself of all of those toxic plant chemicals.
I have struggled with my health my whole life. Eating meat is not about pleasure or luxury. It is about survival. People like Bill Gates and radical vegans want to take away my right to a healthy life. I will fight for my right for freedom of choice in my kitchen!
I should, as a free citizen, be able to decide the right course of wellness that best suits me. Eating fake meat, and toxic plant matter is not the best choice for my body. To that end, I renewed my commitment to eating carnivore. The ladies in the meat up last night were very inspirational. Many good testimonials on improved wellness were shared as well as tips and recipes.

That was her diet for 3 months. Not 100% but enough to do what she was told avoiding beef and eating chicken would do but it did not. Eating beef HEALED HER.
Being told to avoid eating beef because it causes health issues is right up there with the great myth that, ‘if you keep making that face your whole face will freeze and you’ll look like that forever!’. Lies, lies, lies.
If you think the nightly news, or morning news shows, or prime time t.v. are great places to receive accurate nutritional information… think again. Accurate nutritional information doesn’t even come from trained nutritionists! All it means when some one claims to be a certified nutritionist is that they learned what they were told and regurgitated the information accurately but what have they really studied and learned if they only vomit back the same information they have been fed and do not do their own research?
The person I mentioned above fought stage 3c breast cancer and lived. Stage 3c is the stage right before stage 4 cancer. She went to a nutritionist who told her not to eat beef because it would aggravate her condition and could cause her cancer to return. Lies, lies, lies. This person just had another scan yesterday after being on the lioness diet for three months. Everything is normal. No ‘hot spots’! Hot spots when she ate chicken and no beef. No hot spots eating beef and no chicken.
Her words to me:
‘We used to sit around and mock you for eating so much beef. We were sure you would drop dead any day… but you didn’t. Now I think you’ll out live us all!’.
My dear readers, there is a reason why beef is attacked on a regular basis and it’s not because raising beef is bad for the environment.
Eating meat heals the human body. Now, if you’re eating that beef with highly processed foods, you will not receive the benefits eating beef provides. You must stop eating processed foods.
Beef, salt, water (sometimes made into coffee) eventually maybe some fruit once and a while but not much and not too soon especially if you have metabolic syndrome (type 2 diabetes, obesity, etc.) and need to lose weight.
It’s not too late. It’s not too late to reclaim your health!

We are a nation that kills our unborn children but fights to protect the lives of animals who are not being hurt. who live for the sole purpose of providing vital nutrients, as well as much needed products for millions of people? When did we become such fools?
I truly believe we have become so disconnected form nature we no longer understand many of our ancestral practices of agriculture and farming/ranching.

Killing an entire industry, and forcing the price of animal based products to increase until no one can afford to eat them, is inhumane. Obviously self-hatred has reached new heights in Colorado, so much so that the hate has spread out until it has engulfed all people. This initiative puts a hit out on the health and wellbeing of everyone, even vegans. They just can’t see that far down the road.

Confession time: I am a certified personal trainer.
So how did I balloon up to such an undesirable weight? Stress, a bit of unhappiness about my life. And this…
I stopped going to the gym except sporadically. I am a bit of a germaphobe.
Between the men who spit in the drinking fountain and the people who do not wipe down the equipment when they are done using it, I had had enough. Basically, I have all sorts of excuses as to why I stopped going to the gym, but no good reason for stopping working out. Except for, it started to become harder and harder to move. I had become a body at rest and there was no outside force acting upon me.
I decided to do something about it. I began going to the thrift store and buying used exercise equipment. I started going for walks in my neighborhood. Prior to this I could not put the sock on my right foot. My hip had become too stiff and painful. That, I think, was the breaking point. I could not be the person who was no longer able to dress themselves.
A different kind of problem began to emerge… there was no place for my home gym. I had a bench, a barbell, dumbbells… all getting in the way. I had to set them up and tear them down each time I wanted to workout. Preparing to workout was becoming its own workout. In like easy. I needed something easy.
I had, and still have, a kettlebell. Just a little 10 pounder but still. I found a site on the Internet that had kettlebell workouts for every level of person wishing to workout. I tried some of the workouts and loved them.they are easy to do and FAST. Another confession: I hate to workout. No… I really do. I love the results but it is mindless tedium. Counting to 15 3x in a row- over and over again is not my idea of an exciting morning.

I started out with his free workouts and then decided to purchase one of his workout packages. I figure I am using his knowledge, a worker is worth his wages so…
His workout plans are economical. They are still cheaper than a yearly gym membership at most clubs AND I am saving gas $$ by not needing to drive to a secondary location to workout.
I love kettlebell workouts because you can workout your whole body with just one.. ONE piece of equipment. This is especially great for people living in small spaces. Many of us are downsizing our lives. Instead of large, clunky equipment taking up so much space, one or two or a few more kettlebells do not take up much room.
I love kettlebell workouts because not only do they work my muscles, these workouts are also giving me the benefits of a cardio workout without spending all that time on a machine. I still go for walks but on days when the air quality outside is bad because of smoke from nearby wildfires, I can still get in a cardio workout using a kettlebell.
I love kettlebell workouts because kettlebells can be an economical purchase if done correctly.
I love kettlebell workouts because they work your whole body. I completed a 4 minute workout this morning before I began writing this article. I can feel the fatigue in my abs. Yay! My 4 minute workout left me huffing and puffing. If I want a more intense workout, I would just repeat the same workout 2 more times.
I love kettlebell workouts because they are versatile.
I plan to exclusively use kettlebells for my 12 week transformation challenge. I will be posting my progress. I plan to use the same amount of weight for the entire 12 weeks, just 10lbs. If I wish to do a more intensive workout, I will repeat it. I am experimenting along the way, so if I think that the weight has become too easy, I will increase it a bit.
Twelve week is a long time. My challenge takes me into September before it ends. But will it really ever end? Not if I wish to keep the improvements I have made to myself of those 12 weeks.
In order to keep the results of my hard work, I need to keep going.
The dictionary defines ‘fitness’ as a noun. For me, it is a verb. It is active. It must be continuous or it dies. It is not a one time thing you do and you never need to revisit it. Fitness is daily. One must treat their health as they would their job, or someone they love. You cannot neglect it and expect it to remain the same. You must be attentive to, Fitness. Without, Fitness- you have disease.

I had no idea there was a name for what I had been going through for most of my life until I read this POST by my friend, Sally.
I will not bore you with the details, especially since talking about such things can be triggers for those persons struggling with the same, or similar issue. Suffice it to say I have had a life long, skewed relationship with food.
I am not sure if becoming Orthodox has made this better, or worse. At first, I struggled with the fast requirements of Orthodoxy. I think they are ridiculously arbitrary and, well… stupid. Veganism is one of the most unhealthy things you can do to your body. We all need healthy animal fats in order for our bodies to function properly, especially our brains. Children especially need these fats for good development. There is no food that has been excluded for Christians by God… none. These are man made restrictions.
I struggled for a long time trying to do the fasts. The heart burn and constipation were agony. Fiber helping you to poop is a marketing breakthrough and not at all based in science. If you’re into scientific accuracy you will be hard pressed to find any in what is reported about nutrition.
So what to do when one is, Orthorexia but trying to just live life the best they can? Let go. Modify. Do your best. I had begun to alter my way of thinking about food for the last couple of months. When I read Sally’s article it helped the last few pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
Also, I had watched the movie, Haute Cuisine.
I recommend it whether or not you have food issues. The main character is a skilled chef. The movie flips back and forth from her life in the Presidential Palace in Paris, France to her time in the Antarctic as chef to the scientific and research teams.
I love this movie. It is based on a true story. The main character loves to cook. She has a passion for creating good food for people.
Between this movie, and watching copious amounts of travel/cooking shows during lockdown I have learned that there is no mystery or magic to French food, or Italian, or Any other food we think is just so tasty. The real secret, which is not a secret but is a difficult concept for many Americans to grasp is; the ingredients or good. These fabulous cooks do not use processed foods. They use the freshest ingredients they can find even if that means they grow them at home OR have their mothers grow them for their restaurants.
Have you watched the Pixar film, Ratatouille? The female chef explains the importance of fresh ingredients to the novice chef.
Americans are caught up in the mill of; over-eating processed foods, dieting, illness, and yet… within it all- some end up developing Orthorexia.
What if instead of obsessing about how to eat; vegan, carnivore, keto, paleo, etc. we cooked for love? We cooked for the love of creating something wonderful out of the freshest ingredients we could find? What if we cooked for the love a creating? What if we cooked out of love for our spouses and children?
Is that not what is at the heart of homemaking? Making a home that is comfortable, warm, loving, and inviting for those we love?
All too often we homemakers have a tendency to focus on de-cluttering, cleaning, organizing, maintenance, etc. Yes we cook but what is supposed to be an act of love is often categorized as a meaningless chore. Yes, cooking AND eating can become tedious at times. Trying to come up with yet another recipe to make chicken (served for the 3rd time in a week) seem interesting can be a bit daunting.
Have you put away your cookbooks and recipe boxes in an attempt to eat ‘healthy’? Perhaps all that is needed to improve our health is a daily walk? It may seem overly simplistic but let’s look at these other, healthier cultures. Less motorized transit. The communities are small enough to walk just about everywhere you wish to go. Instead of driving to the market, buying a week’s worth (or two) of food and cramming it all in the back of the sub or minivan- food is bought as needed, and carried home in reusable shopping bags.
It is three miles to the nearest grocery store from my home… one way. There is a convenience store closer but as we discussed the emphasis for such places are foods that last. It’s not a cute, French or Greek market with fresh produce and meat readily available. Oh how I wish!
Therefore, I drive to the grocery store. I’m not quite up for making a 6 mile journey round trip on foot to buy my groceries.
Instead, I am considering reaching out to neighbors to see who has what and if we can do a neighborhood ‘farmer’s’ market. I would love to be able to walk to a neighbor’s house and buy fresh eggs from her chickens.
I have herbs to sell and can see myself contributing in that way every spring/summer.
For now, I’m taking out my cookbooks and my recipe boxes. I’m cooking for variety, for love, for creativity.
