When I was an Evangelical, people were always talking about ‘what God revealed to them.’. It makes for good sensationalism but what was really happening is that THEY were reading the King James Bible all the while telling their congregations to read NIV, or ASV, or NASV which have changes in them. Changes mere mortals made to what was once the inerrant, and Living Word of God before they got their mitts on it.
If a book has had 30,000-38,000 changes made to it, would that not then draw into questions its authority and accuracy?
Beware the leader who reads one thing while the people he leads read another. it’s like the king eating steak and the peasants eating mealy bread and gruel. Stop relying on your pastor’s weekly/weakly oral book report. Read scripture, King James Version scripture for yourself!
