As much as we need to be physically healthy for living our life, to be there to serve our families, our church and our community, nothing else really matters if we live as if there is no eternity in the presence of The One Who made us.
I had been backing off of writing too much about my faith because I felt I needed to be extra careful about not sounding judgemental. I had some woundings from being a Protestant Evangelical that were coming out in unfortunate ways when I would write about my religion.
I took a little break, prayed and worked through some things and hopefully, God willing, I am ready to begin writing about Orthodoxy again.
I picked up some books in the church book store today. Some of these books I had heard about on a video-

I’ve never been able to swallow the information many metaphysical people, and others, try to feed people about the origins of the universe, God, human kind, etc.
I realize people are wounded, sometimes very deeply, because of what has been done to them in the name of God.
Everything that is done to us is given to us as a gift by God. I can see how this is hard to understand. I’ve been through some things myself about which I have had heated (one sided) arguments with God.
Everything is a gift from God and as hard as it is we really must praise Him through everything. And yes, that has been a difficult thing for me to do and it still is. I am not saying any of this is easy. I am saying that through it all, we can come back to church, back to God and still love Him. That’s the ‘thing’. To be able to show love, and to be loving, no matter what life throws at us.
Jesus never said to, “be loving… UNLESS”.
I will be reviewing these books as I read them so that you can decide if you would like to read them also.
The devil goes around looking for those whom he can destroy. He does this through woundings caused by offense. He isolates us and then takes us out when we are alone and vulnerable. America is literally burning right now because people because so offhanded they lashed out and lite their world on fire. That is not supposed to be the result of our pain.
Jesus’ message was love and forgiveness. If you are a Christian who has not shown either of these lately to the people around you who you encounter at home, work, school, or while driving and running errands, it is imperative that you get back to these two core truths about Christianity taught to us by Christ. If He could forgive the people who were killing Him, you cna forgive anyone of anything. ANYTHING!
Forgiveness, no excuses.
