In your search for information about how to eat on the carnivore diet, and for anecdotal stories of those who have already tried it, you will inevitably run into fakes, frauds and just plain liars. There are those who cannot leave other people to their God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (that’s what ‘endowed by our Creator means… GOD given). There is always going to be someone who wants to muddy the waters, stir up trouble, tell you you are not doing life right and in general control, control, control.

I run into people’s ‘personal stories’ regarding trying paleo, keto and carnivore & after doing nutritional research for the last 30 years. it’s pretty easy to spot a fake.

I have tried different diets and failed miserably. I sometimes was able to go a full week on it, many times only a few days. The Ducan diet was one where I was able to do it for a full week. I started experiencing heart burn and stopped doing it. It worked for me as far as losing weight. I would recommend it to other people because maybe they do not have the same issues I do when it comes to heartburn. I had the same symptoms of heartburn when I went vegan but also experienced constipation, severe gas and inflammation. The inflammation in my hands was so bad I would wake up with an intense burning sensation in them in the middle of the night. When I say intense I mean that I would wake up in screaming pain. Super fun for my husband. He never complains though. I love that guy! I went on a self guided journey for healing due to many autoimmune symptoms that were ruining my life including a few near death experiences.

I would never recommend a vegan diet to anyone. I am a certified herbalist who has intensively studied nutrition. Veganism is the worst thing you can do to your body aside from the Standard American diet with its Death Pyramid of intensive eating of grains. No thanks. I don’t like ‘feed-lot’ eating.

Feed-lot eating is what is done to animals before they are slaughtered. That’s how puffed cheese snacks were invented. It started out as pig feed. Add some tasty cheese flavoring and you have a beloved snack with an adorable ‘hip-cat’ wearing sunglasses, as a promoter.

Whenever I see someone who claims to have tried paleo or carnivore for a week and then complains about all the meat they are eating I have to wonder about their true motive.

When you go on an all meat or heavy meat diet, your body does go through some changes. When you stop eating plants, your body begins to release all of those toxins from the plants you ate. Toxins that were stored in your fat cells making you sick.

The constant slow release of those toxins over the years made you ill gradually. Some even chalk this up to ‘old age’. When you go on a carnivore diet, you lode weight rapidly. If you are a person who has eaten a diet high in plant matter, you are going to have a rough go of it when you first start out eating carnivore. Stick with it. Give it at least 30-45 days to get past the detox phase and to feel the health benefits that come with changing your diet is such a drastic manner.

You may experience an increase in feeling tired. Your brain fog may increase for a few days as your body deals with an increased release of toxins. You may experience intestinal distress as whatever food was impacted against the walls of your intestines releases and is flushed out of your body. All of these things are part of the detox process but are in no way being caused because you’re ‘eating too much meat’.

I am not going to tell you how much meat to eat. You must learn how to listen to your body. Except for sugar and carbs, if your body is graving something eat it. Eggs/raw eggs? Eat them if your body is craving them. Some people do better eating all red meat. Some eat a variety of meat. Do what your body tells you to do as long as it lines up with eating carnivore. A Big Mac is not carnivore even if you remove everything but the bun. Plus, you might be tempted to eat the whole thing so as not to waste food. Avoid all fast food.

If you can’t figure out what to eat go to the grocery store and buy a rotisserie chicken. Buy some steaks and fry them in a pan inside your home.

Buy the bloodiest, juiciest roast beef at your deli. Have them slice it thin. Pack it for your lunch.

Get two bowls and an 18 pack of cage free eggs. Practice separating the yellow from the white. Toss the white or clear part and only eat the yellow part of the egg.

Experiment. Just don’t give up because someone said they tried it for a week and their body rejected eating meat. That’s just a bunch of garbage.
