I feel as though every time I talk about what I love about Orthodoxy I sound like, Dorcas Lane from Lark Rise to Candleford. Instead of everything being, ‘my one weakness’ I feel as if everything about Orthodoxy is my favorite as in; ‘one of my favorite things about Orthodoxy is’… Or ‘one of the reasons why’ as in; ‘one of the reasons why I left Protestantism is’…
There is just so much to love about Orthodoxy. I’ve been like a kid in a candy shop.
Even as a Protestant, Psalm 103 (It is 104 in the Protestant bible.) has always been my favorite Psalm. We sing quite a bit of it in our vesper services and on the Day of Pentecost.
It’s basic message is; God made everything. God is wise. God is good. God’s timing is perfect. God loves us.
If you want to read the Psalms (referred to as the Psalter) here is an interesting printing I found while doing a bit of research.
It goes into more of an explanation of the origins, author, and meaning behind the Psalms.
